I love street photography capturing spontaneous everyday moments. The great photographers street photographers like Cartier-Bresson and today the Magnum photographers, I love the freedom of roaming the streets of the world taking people and objects. It helps keep my eye in and experiment with angles and light. I’ve been photographing people for years and It’s a way of looking at the surroundings I'm in and seeing what I'd general miss if I was just walking around.

Queensland State LibraryIn a world of visual bombardment is there a place for black and white photography? Photography started its life in black and white and it is fair to say that as humans it does not exist in the world around us. The human eye sees colour every day yet we accept black and white photographs as normal. I believe that black and white gives us a purer form of creativity by removing the colour and leaving the form with its tonal values to express the beauty in everyday subjects. PB
I shot earlier in the year and thought how clever they were being close to the PA Hospital. |
